Preparing for Your 2012 HIC and PIT Count with Special Attention on Veteran Program Guidance Webinar

Date Published: November 2011

This webinar presents the new requirements for completing the 2012 Housing Inventory Count (HIC) and the Point-in-Time (PIT) count and review data collection guidance for the Veterans Affairs funded programs.

This webinar was delivered on November 1, 2011 as part of the Ready, SET, Go! webinar series.

NOTE: This webinar provides instructions to categorize VA Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans (VA DOM) beds as Transitional Housing, but those instructions have been superseded. After this webinar was recorded, conversations between VA and HUD led to the determination that VA DOM beds should be categorized as Emergency Shelter beds in 2012, as they were in 2011. To clarify, all VA DOM beds should be recorded on the HIC as Emergency Shelter beds, and people in VA DOM beds on the night of the PIT Count should be included in the counts of persons in emergency shelter.
